Weighing the Costs

This week has been helpful in understanding some of the things that are more difficult about becoming an entrepreneur. As I read Randy Haykin's case study, I came to understand a little more about some of the struggles that entrepreneurs have to go through, even when they are very successful. There are always risks and challenges that come our way when we are trying to do something new and different. Some of these struggles are going to involves the lives of others around us and not just ourselves. It seems that these are going to be the most difficult struggles of all. When it is just yourself who has to take the fall when things go wrong in your business, it does not seem as bad. When it is your own family and also the families of many individuals who work under you that have the risk of losing the jobs or not being successful, this seems like much more of a risk. These are the things that must be taken into consideration when starting a business and hiring people to work for you. There are so many things that could go wrong and you have to decide whether or not you are willing to take that risk. Not only the risk to yourself but also that risk to your employees.
