Raw Materials

I made my first product this week and it is now ready to sell. One thing that I learned when making the product is that it is important to be familiar with the materials being used. I used flannel instead of the usual cotton fabric I normally use and thought it would turn our the same but was wrong. There are some pros and cons to using flannel instead of cotton. I found that the blankets turn out softer and comfier, but the material balls up a bit when it is washed. In the future, I think it would be a good idea to make a small sample before doing an entire product with different materials.
This week we watched a video where David Neeleman explained the importance of customer service to Jet Blue. He said that we have to spend the money where people are going to appreciate it the most. They decided that getting TVs would be more important and appreciated by the customer than giving them food. This just makes me think that it is important to be wise about where we spend money in a company.
