Facebook and Franchise

This week, I sold a quilt! Yay! I spent a lot of my time this week making the quilt and it was a lot of work. I realized that if I am going to continue with this business, I am really going to have to raise my prices. I made a quilt that was almost big enough to be a queen size bed spread and only charged $80 for it. That was a mistake. I know the customer was willing to pay more so it was a mistake for me to charge so little. In the future, for a quilt that size I will have to charge at least $120. I have found that the most successful form of advertising for me right now is through my Facebook business page. I already have a lot of friends on there and family who can share for me and that is how I was able to get this customer. I am so happy with the progress this business has made this week.
We were able to talk a lot about franchises this week and it really got me more interested in the idea of owning a franchise. I was able to interview Phil Gray who owns 32 McDonalds locations and it was very insightful. Probably the biggest take-away was that you really have to research the kind of support and financial help a franchise will give you before even considering buying. McDonalds is apparently very good with this, but it is also very hard to get in with them. This is just something for me to think about with my future goals.
