New Journey

I am in a new class this semester which means a new journey. This semester, I will be creating an online business. Choosing that business has been a struggle so far, but I am confident that this class will allow me to find something that I can do and be successful at. My last business that I tried to start was not very successful and I feel that this may have been partly due to a complete lack of advertising. This semester, I do not have such a small budget and I am required to use Google Ads to promote my online business. I am not sure which business model I will use or what product or service I want to provide. What I do know for sure is that it has to be something that is not going to take up all of my time, as my son is almost a year old and I am taking three classes right now. It also has to be something that will not require too huge of an investment. I already have a lot of fabric left over from my last business endeavor and it might be a good idea to find a way to use those scraps to create and inventory for a future business. I am excited to see how creating an ad campaign can help me succeed as an entrepreneur.

Never Give Up

One thing that stood out to me in the readings and videos this week is that we are not alone. We have the help of the Lord and His gospel to guide us along the way. One of the videos mentioned that there are going to be lots of people who don't believe in us and what we want to do. This is just like Nephi with his older brothers who thought he could not build a boat and he could not get the plates, but we know that we can do Anything with the help of the Lord. A lot of times, our goals may seem too big for our own good and we might feel that we just can't do any more, but we have to remember that we are not alone. The Lord will help us accomplish the things that we must to in this life. We just have to follow his guidance as we go through our lives. Weighing the Costs

This week has been helpful in understanding some of the things that are more difficult about becoming an entrepreneur. As I read Randy Haykin's case study, I came to understand a little more about some of the struggles that entrepreneurs have to go through, even when they are very successful. There are always risks and challenges that come our way when we are trying to do something new and different. Some of these struggles are going to involves the lives of others around us and not just ourselves. It seems that these are going to be the most difficult struggles of all. When it is just yourself who has to take the fall when things go wrong in your business, it does not seem as bad. When it is your own family and also the families of many individuals who work under you that have the risk of losing the jobs or not being successful, this seems like much more of a risk.
